The dragons on the right and on the left, are the representation of the national symbol of the country which is the "Druk". The latter is a dragon from Bhutan mythology. It should be noted that the dragon is very important in the history of the country and because of this, it is even known under the name of Druk Yul which means the land of dragons.

Back:

Simtokha Dzong ("dzong" means "castle-monastery"), also known as Sangak Zabdhon Phodrang (in Bhutanese : "Palace of the deep meaning of secret mantras") is a small dzong . It was built in 1629 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal , who unified Bhutan. It is the first of its kind built in Bhutan.
